Hello everyone...it's been awhile since I posted but I've been here lurking and learning :> . Back in March I found out that I have hep c thru routine bloodwork. I had a liver biopsy in June. When I went in for the results, the doctor floored me and told me that I have cirrhosis. When I started asking questions he became evasive and kept telling me that I'm young (36) and not to stress out . He told me kindly that I should focus on the positive. I'm 2b and that responds well to treatment he says.He says that it's still compensated. That I need to think of the glass being half full and blah blah blah.He then said he was refering me to another doctor who is with the infectious disease unit!I was so out of it when I left that I forgot to ask for copies of the results. This was the end of June. Well the doctor he's refering me to has been on "vacation" all this time.I also just today received copies from the biopsy after repeatedly calling since the last appt in June. And this is why I'm posting. Can any one give any imput with this ?

CHRONIC PORTAL HEPATITIS GRADE IV
FIBROSIS STAGE III
IRON STAIN IS NEGATIVE

COMMENT: SECTIONS SHOW A MARKED PORTAL CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY CELL INFILTRATE WITH BRIDGING NECROSIS FOCALLY PRESENT.
THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF NEOPLASIA.
TRICHROME STAIN SHOWS ARCHITECTURAL DISTORTION AND BRIDGING FIBROSIS

I'm not asking for a diagnosis or for expert opinions. I'm just asking for experienced opionions and some feedback. Any help interpreting this is welcome ...
thanx in advance
margo
