So Numb
Oct 25, 2011
My husband is 57, 5 years ago we found out he has stage 4 Cirrhosis. We went to the mayo Clinic for two years and no help. Then wewent to the Lied transplant Hospital in Nebraska. We met with the transplant team and was accepted. The problems were your mil level has to be 15 before you can be put on the list and when you are paged you have to be there within 5 hours. My husband's mil is 11 and has been for two years now. This would be what good/bad news? He is in pain all the time his days and nights are mixed. he amonuia causes brain confusion and now the doc here at home tells us that he is in the last stage of hep C. He goes to the wound clinic twice a week because ofthe edema and venus sores. He is tired of the life he is living he just wants to go, but at the same time he still talks about when he gets a transplant. I work at a LTC home and deal with people declining and dying every day, but when you come home and it's your loved one you watch this happening to it's a whole different story. This is my first time posting, I saw the site once bookedmarked it then my computer crashed, I just found my way back. It help to read the post and know i am not alone there are others who know how I feel how my husband feels and what he is going thru and lives with. He has had no treatment or special meds they said it was to far along for that. Thank you for reading and may God Bless each and everyone of you. I will keep you in my Prayers because I KNOW.
