... t used interfuron. Had to give myself shots 3 times a week. Six months after treatment my dr told me I had relapsed. I then went into a study around 1998 with interfuron and ribavirin. Again it was taking the shots 3 times a week. I was still working and I couldn't do both the treatment and work. ... (11 replies)

I noticed that for me it wasn't the interfuron that bothered me...it was the combination. When I was on just interfuron in the early 90's I had no problem at all. ... (12 replies)

... drug use which stopped approx 20 years ago. My liver biopsy showed some fibrosis. My first experience with treatment was about 13 years ago when you just used interfuron 3 times a week. ... Hi bjr, yes, I had a biopsy done. I have mild fibrosis. Stage 2/3 out of 6. My viral load was 740,000. Liver Enzymes when I first started treatment was: alt-119, ast-67. The first week I was on treatment, my liver enzymes went back to normal. At 4 weeks, my viral load was undetectable. ... Hi Bjr, I can only tell you my experience with fatigue. I was very tired before my treatment. After I started treatment, I had more energy. I will be taking my 6th injection on Saturday. I blamed the tiredness on my job and getting older. Now that I look back, I think it was due to the hep c. I know a lot of people have fatigue with the treatment, but I actually feel better.... ... No, if the treatment is successful and there is a sustained response 6 months post-therapy (i.e. at that time there is no detectable virus in the blood) then it is not transmissible to others. What other questions do you have? I can probably answer them in layperson's terms. (8 replies)
