... I'm in a similar situation as yourself. I'm 54, I have geno type 1a. I had a liver biopsy last year and found I am in stage 1, no damage to the liver. I have no syptoms of it. I'm sure I contracted it in the 70's partying too much but who didn't? ... (2 replies)

... Hi docsletmedown I want to chime in in favor of biopsy. I had one, and it was reassuring enough that i am into my second year UNtreated, and rarely worry much. the biopsy showed me at stage 1 even though i think i've been infected for more than three decades (i was a pioneer!).
