Dear Silver Swan, How long since your surgery? Did you do one or two thr? How are you feeling now? Any limitations? Any chance you remember when you felt like your old self?
Dear Dancing Lady:
My two hip replacements were a little more than a year apart. I had some elective GYN surgeries I wanted to get done before doing the second hip - give my body time to recover.
I feel fine these days. I am 3 months past the second hip replacement and everything is perfect. I have never had any post op pain or infections.
Meds cover any pain post op and I gave them up fast.

I can bend as far down as I wish now. I drive for shopping appointments, etc. and no problems there. I do all my own work at home. Have no stairs as live in a condominium with elevator and have washer and dryer in my own unit.
In my case, it took a full year for me to feel really back to normal with my first hip replacement, but during that year I could do pretty much anything I wanted to do. Don't cross my legs but have't done that for years anyway, because of osteo arthritis. I can give up leg crossing!
Others may have had a different time experience in getting back to what is normal for them. Maybe they will chime in here. I should add that I turned 80 in August.

Shirley H.
