Kneecap subluxation

I popped my left knee cap out of socket a little over 2 years ago. I had a knee brace that locked my whole leg for a few weeks and then got a second one which I did use. I never really did much of the physical therapy which I know was a bad idea but was wondering what I could do if I wanted to start now. I used to run cross country but stopped training in 2006. Since then I haven't really done anything in the way of exercise and I want to get back in shape. I have tried running and it isn't really painful. I wanted to start doing yoga which would be good for me regardless. However it is hard to bend my knee sitting crosslegged which makes yoga hard and I don't want to hurt myself.
What sort of physical therapy (also maybe good yoga moves?) could I do to improve the situation? Is it possible to re-injure myself doing yoga?
