Some PT does require that they push you, such as post-ACL surgery and post knee replacement. Following an arthroscopic there is less push and usually more emphasis on strengthening muscles to aid in healing and functioning.

With post-ACL or post-TKR you are pushing every PT session to get more degrees of bending out of the knee so as to stave off too much scar tissue forming which can become a permanent cause of trouble if not aggressively treated. This is usually not the case with many arthroscopic repairs unless there was very significant repair in the athroscopy vs. an arthroscopy used soley to clean out the joint.
