... Flourish, Sorry to hear about your pain. Something you might want to look into is a torn labrum. With some tears debris gets into the joint and causes all sorts of pain and catching. Unfortuately, X-rays aren't good at picking tears up, so you have to get an MRI. Lots of people with torn labrums go misdiagnosed for years - it's something that just doesn't seem to be on...
