... Ask your doc about them. I'm very surprised you didn't find them on your legs when you woke up from the surgery. They are mainly for keeping blood clots at bay, which is so important. And they also help with the swelling. I didn't have to pay for them and mine go all the way up to the top of the thigh. (39 replies)

... ive but they do help. My recommendation would be to get the thigh high hose. If you get the ones that only go up to your knee it seems as if they just make the swelling in the knee worse. You can get them at many drug stores and medical supply shops as well as on the internet. ... (39 replies)

... O IT!! FORCE YOURSELF TO GET UP AND DOING YOUR EXERCISES and then ice the knee for twenty minutes. If the knee is that sore, which is absolutely NORMAL this soon after surgery, you can ice the knee at least four times a day to keep the swelling down. Thankyou connie for your reply to me i thought it was just me who was having this problem it made me feel more relaxed about my TKR as i tend to worry when i shouldnt hope your feeling better soon with your knee its been a hard 4 weeks but hopefully as time goes on it will improve once again thanks (11 replies)

... f you recovery is trial and error. There seems to be a lot here, some of it will help you, some may not apply to your case. I am not a doctor, but I have had a TKR and know that it would have been nice to know more of what to expect. Everyone recovers differently from this surgery. ... (17 replies)
