I know that this has been posted quite a few times before, but I'm absolutely terrified I may have contracted HIV after a sexual encounter.

I am a 20 year old male, and I have had two encounters in my life - in March 2013 I performed and received oral sex with an older man (he did not ejaculate in my mouth) - this time, I knew much less about STD's and all I had felt was guilt.

But more recently, 10 days ago, I performed and received oral sex (again, with an older guy - who says he is clean, I've asked twice) - neither of us ejaculated in the other one's mouth, and I in general have good dental hygiene - the only thing I can think of at the moment are wisdom teeth coming through (no bleeding). He sucked me a bit after I had ejaculated, but I didn't touch his after he himself had ejaculated.

The past few days have been horrible, I had a dull ache in my legs a couple of days after the encounter and a tense feeling in my neck (can't feel swollen nodes) and I can't decide whether my throat is sore or not, it's kind of like I have a lump in it but the achy feeling comes and goes.

I'll admit, I have been symptom checking online constantly and I have been upset/worrying a LOT. I'm going to get tested at four weeks, so I have 2 and half to go which is killing me.

The mixed messages online confuse me so much, there are claims of people catching HIV through oral sex and when others say there's "no" risk, well that's not possibly true is it now??

What are the most common ARS symptom combinations? I know I haven't hit 2 weeks yet so I still may have it coming.

I just have this horrible feeling I'm the unlucky one.

Please please help.

Thank you.
oral sex is not a route for a HIV infection.
so you do not have HIV...
go find something else to worry about!
Hi I'm currently at 12 days after the incident, I've noticed the palms of my hands are slightly blotchy all over - as in slightly red patches beneath the skin all over, I'm going out of my mind even more.

I'm really scared that this is the ARS rash starting, I'm never usually this paranoid about anything but I'm so so scared still.
You have already been advised you were not at risk of HIV transmission. There has been many studies on oral sex with partners how were negative and positive and there was no recorded cases.

You are not going to make history from this so please accept the advice and move on with your life.

Everybody's palms look like that. Your issue is anxiety and nothing more.
Just a closing statement, as I think posting results helps anxious/worried people out a LOT, I tested negative yesterday.

Believe me I'm the MOST anxious person you can find, and I can say to anyone else out there who feels that way - worried about oral sex, just don't beat yourself up over it. I live in London and went to the busiest sexual health in the city and they told me they have never seen a case of oral HIV transmission.

So if you want to get tested for peace of mind like I did, it truly helps, but you WILL be fine.
