... I am experiencing a couple of the "flu" like symptoms and had an HIV test and a CBC. The HIV came back neg and the CBC came back all normal. My question is the if I was really seeing symptoms from acute HIV infection, wouldn't the CBC show abnormal levels of white blood cells? ... (3 replies)

... Generally infections show at least some differences on blood tests therefore it's quite possible that their would be some abnormality in your routine blood tests such as a CBC. Speaking for myself I had elevated WBC counts at 2 weeks post exposure as well as 9 weeks and 10 weeks but the count was within the normal range at 13 weeks(their were no other CBC's in between )....
