... I'm curious how much a normal meal size is for a 13 month old child since mine seems to be eating non-stop and cries when we try to take food away from her. A sample menu for her is an entire banana cut up and milk for breakfast. A couple thin slices of turkey, one piece of wheat bread, a slice of fat free cheese and 2 or 3 animal crackers for desert. For dinner she eats... (5 replies)

... I was just wondering if what my son seems to have developed over the last couple of weeks is common and normal or not. He has always been a great eater, up untill a few weeks ago. When I give him what I know he likes he will eat maybe 1 or 2 bites then begin throwing everything everywhere from his highchair. This happens with every meal and snack given at any point of the day.... (2 replies)

... ng through a growth spurt. My DD would eat constantly for days then sleep constantly for days. I guess they are the same in that aspect. My ped said he should be eating 5 oz every 3 hours, so like 40oz a day! LOL! The gastro really made me feel better by saying at least 18. Some days it has been less, some a little more. ... ... Oh, I would really guess it is the baby. Even though he was doing it before baby came, he could sense it, and I am sure you (even not meaning to) had him feeling a little left out then (as you were preparing for baby). A lot of kids strike out at their parents, siblings, wet their pants again (if they are already PT), withdraw, etc. He is showing you that he is mad at you, and... (2 replies)
... My guy is going like 5 hours! It is scary, and the gastro told me that my ped was wrong! He should be eating 18 oz a day no matter when or how. I have calculated this the last couple days....and he just barely gets there. I almost think that if he has 3 oz every 3 hours... ... (12 replies)
... I would talk to your doc, but my suggestion is to give him a drop of saline in his nose if he is stuffy. This will make it easier for him to breathe while eating. The stuffy nose may be making it scary for him to eat. Also, you should take him for an ear check. One of the first signs of an ear infection is an infants lack of bottle sucking/drinking. This was always the case... (3 replies)
