Alright...my 1 month old son Ethan is doing well in most aspects. But about 4 or 5 times a day he has these hiccup sessions where he just hiccups non stop for about 10 minutes or so. These hiccups really annoy him and they lead into a frustrated cry. He had his 1 month check up yesterday (he's gained 2 full pounds and 1 1/2 inches in length since birth :D ) and I asked his ped about it but he doesn't seem to worry about it, attributing it to excess gas in his tummy. He told me to burp Ethan more often while feeding and to burp his hiccups away when they occur. Well, Ethan throws an absolute fit when I take away his bottle mid-feeding, so I try to wait to burp after every 1 oz, then get back to eating after atleast 3 min of burping. I tried to go longer last night, but the longer I burp the more he screams and he ends up giving himself an upset stomach and spitting up a good amount. Then after the entire bottle is finished I burp him for atleast 15 minutes, or atleast keep him upright so that his tummy can get a head start on digestion before he lays down. But it never fails that the hiccups come on after all of this is done and he finally gets to sleep.

I am wondering if anybody else seems to be having problems with the hiccups as well? If so, any suggestions on how to deal with them?
