I am a pharmacist-and I know I'm posting late, but for the sake of other NOT give your babies cough suppresents. it is potentially very harmful to them. Start with a humidifier, warm baths, put saline drops in their nose and suck any mucous out (especially before you try feeding) and see how that works first. If nothing is working, you may try an infant decongestant with the approval of your Dr. for a short period of time. I would say waiting it out is the safest way to go, UNLESS the child is losing weight, having difficulty breathing(the child looks like they're having a hard time) or you hear wheezing, then they should be seen by a physicain.
