Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Message Board

Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Board Index sounds like you got some great stuff and a great deal!
What I've started doing with feeding time with Troy is this:
wakes up around 7-8am- Nurse
9-10am:(breakfast)5-6 tbsp cereal...2 tbsp veggies and 1 tbsp of prunes (to keep him regular)
I also give him some water from a sippy cup
After this feed he usually goes down for a nap
Around 11-12 He has the same amount of food as breakfast with water
Around 1pm I nurse
He plays after and then has another nap
He has supper around 5-6pm (same amt as breakfast and lunch) and I nurse him after
He then plays and has his nightly routine...bath etc and then he nurses once more at 8-8:30pm and is down for the night. He hasn't woken up to nurse during the night for about a month now.
I hope this helps? Troy used to nurse every 3 hours and have cereal..but I think he was just in the habit of eating every 3 hours because he's so big..and I realized that he just might be thirsty so giving him the water does the trick.
I know everyone feeds there babies differently...and I find that it helps hearing different ways so you can find your pattern! Trust me I've done a million different things and this has been the way that's worked for us :)
Good luck!!

Kierrasmommy--OMG i saw that on the news too...I almost cried for the baby and could NOT imagine how anyone could do this to their own child. I was very angry at the mother as well. If she couldn't deal with her beautiful baby girl...go get some help..there are millions of people out there who would love to adopt.
I'm sorry that your hubby is being the way he is..good for you to put your foot and down and tell him he needs to go see a counselor.
I know Troy will be rolling sometime! hopefully:) I guess he's just developmentally behind..I have to remember that he was 3 weeks early..but i heard that most children are the same at a certain age -3 yrs?

Well i better get going..Troy is having his first hair cut today! His hair is hanging over his eyes and i have to tuck a lot of it behind his ears!! ahhhh it's so long!
Take care everyone!!
S :)
Hi all,

Laur77 wow thats a very healthy and cute big baby:) l am not getting Annaum weighed this week l got her weighed in about 2 weeks ago and she was aroun7 17lbs ish so l reckon she will be 18ibs ish this week.

Annuam is getting really cheeky she has developed a sweet tooth so no more dessserts for her. She loves her cheesey veggies though! However, she seems to have gone off carrots, she will refuse to swallow and open her mouth l am just amazed at how she learned to do this:rolleyes: She will start to cry if l try to force her to eat and sometimes l get really worried as it is her feed time say like 3-4 hours later and she wont eat, but will want formula and she doesnt even drink that much either say like 8 ounces, 7 ounces about 3 times a day. I try to give her an average of three meals a day. Oh and the funny thing is today l had heated up a cauliflower and chesse grill for myself and she wanted it: :bouncing: she refused to eat her carrots and broccoli but started to stick her tongue out:) So l gave her tiny tiny bit and you should have seen the way she was eating it like trying to imitate the way we eat! lol

Annaums clothes dont fit either as in she is about 6 months and 3 weeks and she still fits in to some 3-6 months clothes which l am running out of. Her 6-9 month clothes are a bit too long or big ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM?

Kierrasmommie, so sweet, l can just picture Kaden doing this! Lol

Well im off to my first exercise class 2maro (wednesday) it will an aerobics class with a very old friend of mine who bumped into whilst l was shopping! SO PLEASE PRAY THAT I SURVIVE THIS FITNESS THING AND COME OUT LOOKING LIKE J-LO!!!:  ok im off really tired byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
