Infant Care (up to 18 months old) Board Index

my dd is 3 months old and eats 3-4 ounces every 2-3 hours. I feel like i am always feeding her. Is this average? Also how are ur babies sleeping through the night? She sleeps for like 5 hours and gets up and has a bottle and goes right back to bed for 2-3 more hours.
My daughter will be 4 months old later this week. Our schedule sounds very much like yours.

I breastfeed, and we feed every 2 hours throughout the day...occassionally it goes for 3 hrs between feedings, but that's if she falls asleep or she's entertained by visitors or something. We do give her a bottle of EBM at night. She's been taking 4 oz of breast milk in the bottle...but has just graduated to 5 oz last week.

As for the night sleeping, we (me or husband with a bottle) feed her at 9:30-9:45 so she goes down at 10:00pm. She sleeps until 4 or 5am when I feed her & back to sleep, then is up for the day around 7 or 8am...every once in a great while, she'll go to 9am, but that's the exception. Any other times she might wake up in the night (which happens occassionally) I'll give her a pacifier or hold her hands and she'll fall back asleep right away.

For the last month...maybe month and a half, she has pretty much stopped napping in the day (except for a 15 minute catnap 1 or 2 times in the day). I really miss those nap times. Once in a blue moon she will take a 1-2 hour nap...I'm in disbelief when it happens...and whether she naps in the day or not really has no effect on her bedtime or sleeping patterns at night.

That's how it goes around here.
