I'm the mom of 6 kids... but this is about a baby, 10 mos now, that I babysit...
he's had this situation twice now...followed the exact same pattern each time...
looks like a yeast infection in the creases in his diaper area... his mom and I start treating it with antifungal cream.. red, raised bumps appear in the diaper area, and then over the course of a few days, he has a rash over his ENTIRE torso, front and back, down his shoulders, on his neck, face, armpits...
no fever, is not contagious...
apparently the last time it happened, the doctor told the mom that it was eczema...well, i have some eczema, and one of my children has it, and this is just NOT eczema...its not dry, scaly, etc.
I'm really wondering if he has a yeast infection that covers his whole torso/face....does anyone have any experience with this, or ever heard of this? i know a person can have a skin yeast infection, and I've been looking some things up online, but I can't really find pictures to compare it to.... I just don't want to tell mom my 'theories" without a lil more information...
