WOW, this sound like a twin reaction to my sons 1st few months.....

What we found out was he was spitting up tons of formula after about the 2 month because we were giving him 'MILK BASED' formula!

What they told me was that a babies intestines are not fully developed and have a larger hole in them when they are younger and if they are exposed to a large protien such as 'MILK BASED' protien from 'cows milk', it is too large to digest and the exposure to the 'MILK BASED PROTIEN" creates an 'allergy' if given too early!

*** this also can happen if given 'wheat' products too early...

My son was spitting up a ton, and he was also breaking out in a rash on his face and stomach which triggered me to seek professional advise.

So, what they told me to do was switch him to 'SOY BASED FORMULA'.
It worked wonders and to this day, I am affraid of 'MILK based Formula'....
I have a daughter now that is about 4 months and all she gets is Breast milk....then soy formula......she never has had any spitting up/reflux problems....

Breast milk is the best because its proteins are completely digestible (that's why infants are always nursing- its digests quick and easy and they are hungry again =), but my 2nd choice would be 'Soy Based Formula' because it really worked for my son with NO side effects...

I hope this helps~
