Help what to feed 6 month old

THis is my second baby, and I am a bit confused as to what to feed her. First let me say there is 6 years between my girls so I have forgot quite a bit. With my first one I just fed mostly baby jar food and followed along with 1st and 2nd and 3rd foods without a problem. Now I am preparing some home made and some organic jared food but my problem in following along with second foods as my baby is ready for a bit more texture they say not to give any meat to baby until after 8 months but gerber makes turkey and green beans for 6 months second foods which my baby loves, why do they make this if they are not supose to have it any insight as I feel like I don't have a clue as to what to feed my little on I have done lots of research but am looking for a few opinions!!!!!!!!
