Cereal in bottle
Jun 8, 2008
My 6 week old DS is drinking 35-40 ounces of Enfamil Gentlease a day. He has acid reflux and drinks 4-6 oz every 2 1/2- 3 hours. I have tried to stretch it but he is absolutely starving. My ped told me to add some rice cereal to his bottle at his 6pm feed and 9:30pm feed. I'm just a little nervous because it seems like we got his acid reflux finally under control and I don't want the cereal to mess him up. My daughter was sleeping 6-7 hours at a time at this age. She was on regular Similac, which I think filled her up. For example last night he had 6oz at 10:30pm, 5 1/2 oz at 2:00am, and 5 1/2 ounces at 4:30am. He just seems so hungry all of the time on the Gentlease.
Just wondering what the consensus was on early cereal feeding. Since DS already has reflux, doc said the rice cereal will help with that too.
