Oh my daughter had the same thing as this age! It's the worst...I feel for your little girl!

I definitely agree with luckydarlin about running a vaporizer in your daughter's room. We use the Vick's with the menthol that can be added. You can also try rolling up a towel and putting it under your daughter's mattress to keep her head elevated to help her breathe. This really seemed to help my little girl. And of course there's the baby Ayr saline solution with the ever so nasty aspirator. She'll kick and scream, but it will help clear out all of that mucus.

I don't know how old my daughter was when we started using the Baby Vicks chest rub, but this might help your daughter breathe if you rub it on her chest. You'll have to check if it's safe to use for 6 months. I can't remember.

If all else fails, a warm bath always works! :)

Hope she feels better soon!
We also use the carseat in our house when baby has a cold. I have to say also that I understand that we do not want to laden our babies with chemicals but they can be miserable with a fever. My son (6 months) just had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. His fever ran between 102 and 103.5 which made him miserable. His throat was covered in sores. We gave him Tylenol and it worked wonders. I actually came down with the illness a few days after my sons had it. It was the worst sore throat I have ever had and my head felt as if it were going to explode with the fever. I too used Tylenol (and ibuprofen). I can only imagine how badly my baby felt for the three days before we caved and gave him Tylenol.

It is a personal decision but if your little guy spikes a high fever, I would listen to the doctor.
