Sick 6 month old
Sep 26, 2008
Tonight we put our 6 month old baby to bed. She was tossing and turning for about 2 hrs. She suddenly woke up screaming crying. We tried to get her calmed down then out of now where she had projectile vomit twice. She has a 97.5 armpit temp? She is sleeping now but still tossing and turning. Any ideas?
Is she congested at all? Does she have a runny nose? (Post nasal drip could cause stomach upset and vomiting.) Has she eaten anything new that could possibly be causing an allergic reaction? (Allergic reactions can include rashes, stomach cramping, abdomenal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) Have you phoned the ped on call? If you're extremely concerned and something is seeming very wrong, go to the ER, but I'd try calling the ped first.
Did you try taking a rectal temp? I have read that they are much more accurate. Other than that, maybe she is teething? My daugther is 6.5 months old and we are still waiting for her first teeth to appear, but we think they are close. She hasnt been sleeping nearly as well as usual for the last 2 weeks and when she is awake, she is always chewing on anything she can get her hands on!
