Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for weaning my son off the "middle of the night bottle". He gets this bottle when he wakes up at 1-2am. He usually drinks his bottle or some of it and then falls right back to sleep. Right now he is just over 1 year-old and has gone/ will go for a week or two sleeping through the night. Right now he is teething too so I think that has something to do with the waking and we also give Humphrey's, teethers etc when we feel it is his teeth bothering him.
I have read and the Dr. said to start putting some water in his bottle; 6 oz formula, 1 oz water for a few days to a week then 5 oz formula and 2oz water until the bottle is all water. I guess the idea is for him to go "ugh I am not waking up for water". But will this still work if he wakes up every other night? I am thinking it will just take longer? I don't want to let him cry it out. He sometimes wakes up cries and then goes right back to sleep within 5 minutes. Bottles are given when he keeps crying despite all other tries at soothing. He goes to bed between 7:30 and 8pm, with the earlier bedtime the ultimate goal.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Benji's Mom
