Avent bottles?

... Same here. I have a large gift set of Avent 8 oz. bottles that I got at my shower. I hope to use them when DS starts to eat more, but it seems the Playtex 4 oz. bottles work the best right now. ... Hi there, The reason that you're supposed to take the nipple off to warm is because with these particular bottles, the nipples need to be sucked on to be opened. With most bottles, the hole in the nipple is always open so it allows for the heat to escape, but with these there's no way for the heat to get out.
