You had been through something very emotionally draining and have every right to be warn out and emotional. I completely understand acting like everything is normal while inside your reeling. My brother and sister-in-law just had their second baby (when they can barely handle their first - I am not trying to be judgemental - long story, not the greatest parents) and I had just been through a failed IUI and it was very trying. That was extremely hard on me, and I consider what you are going through to be even harder - so please take this time to be kind to yourself and your DH. As horrible as it sounds, etopic pregnancy seems not to be that rare. And considering that this was your first try - you will probably have no trouble conceiving again. It is wonderful that you have a dr. that is sensitive and caring - that is hard to find! I had an HSG in July and really didn't find it to be that bad. I have heard that the endometrial biopsy is the most painful and that is behind you, thank goodness! I took a lot of advil before it and that helped. I also remained extremely still during it. When they inject the dye, it can cause cramping and being still made a big difference for me. They will ask you to turn from side to side to help it flush through, but the dye will have already been injected by then. Some people said it helped them to look up at the monitor and watch the dye on the screen - kinda cool - but my radiologist was kinda old and had it pulled very close to him so he could see better and that meant I couldn't watch too. In all, the test goes very quickly and I was a bit ticked at myself for getting all worked up about this test by the time I left! If you have any blockage in your tubes, it can cause a bit more cramping. But the BEST PART is this...they told me that your chances on getting pg for the first few months after having this test is greater because it "flushes out" any debris that is currently in the tubes. And that makes since after an etopic. Your dr. sounds like she is covering all the bases and knows what she is doing. Again, I am so sorry that you had to endure this...please just remember that you have come to the right place. We are here for you and care very much! ;)
