I also do not have insurance coverage for IVF. My insurance does cover diagnostics (ultrasound, bloodwork) and does cover IUI, which is why we are doing IUI. My insurance does not cover injectable meds though which is what we are going to try the next round (we did clomid/IUI last month), and those meds are REALLY expensive. Luckily my RE's office was able to give me one of the meds, which saved me $1100!! We had to foot the bill for the rest though which was $500. All for just one cycle lol! Anyway, I'm hopeful the next cycle will work.
I wish you best of luck on your upcoming appointment with your RE. I think you will really feel like you are making more progress once you start going to him/her.
If you find out you are doing injectables for your IUI, be sure to ask if your RE's office has any samples to give you for free!! Good luck! :)
