Hi and Welcome to the Board -

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

Regarding the progesterone levels - my doctors have always told me that they want the level to be above 10 to indicate ovulation. I can only remember one time they actually told me my number and it was 49 (on CD21). However, when they do b/w on CD21, it's assuming that you ovulated on CD14 - the blood test is supposed to be done 7 days post ovulation. Not everyone ovulates on CD14 so the test could show lower levels if you ovulated sooner or later than that. Does that make sense? My current doctor does the b/w 7 days after ovulation actually occurs (which I can tell with charting and/or ovulation pain).

I do have a friend that had a miscarriage DUE TO low progesterone levels and after that m/c her doctor put her on progesterone supplementation to support her next pregnancy. If she had her levels checked when she found out she was pregnant, she probably would have been able to sustain the pregnancy (I say "probably" because you really never know). But, she did tell me, and she tells EVERYONE she knows to get their prog. levels checked when they find out they are pregnant - it's such an EASY thing to supplement and I don't know why a doctor wouldn't do it.

My advice would be to INSIST on the prog levels being checked and/or find a new doctor that agrees with you. I see NO reason to go through 3 m/c before they decide to put you on progesterone supplements. Now, having said that, I do know that there are doctors out there who do not believe in prog supplementation - so you may need to find one that does. It doesn't make any sense to me, when it seems clear that the prog would help you sustain the pregnancy - but I am not a doctor.

I wish you the best of luck!!
