New to the Board
Feb 25, 2007
Hi Everyone. I've been viewing the board now for about two weeks, but this is my first post. Here's alittle about me....

My name is Heather, I'm 23 years old, and live in Northeastern Ohio. I'm an assistant manager at a store called "Justice", it's a branch of limited that carries young girls(tween) clothing and accessories, sizes 6-16. Hopefully now you won't see me as a stranger, but as real person :)

I found out last January('06) that I had HPV, and tested positive for precancer cells. I went through a string of tests, colposcopies, and something else....the procedure is just escaping my brain right now. My OB told me that things didn't look too good, and that if I wanted children, that I should think about doing so in the near future, because of my test results.
At that time, I was engaged to a wonderful man, who wanted to know what was going on, asked a ton of questions(he has a brother, so didn't know much about the female body) and stuck by myside. We were origionally scheduled to get married May 5, 2007, but circumstance got in the way of that. So, we did what we though was right, and bumped the wedding date up. I married my best friend and the man of my dreams on July 29, 2006.

I went off of my birthcontrol in March of '06, and Todd and I were 'actively' trying to get pregnant. I didn't care if I had a baby bump for the wedding, I just wanted to a baby. Well, nothing happened. Here it is February, nearly March, a year later, and still no baby. My OB started running more tests last month, and I found out that I had PCOS. Since I went off my b/c in March of last year, I have had 5 periods. So, the OB started me on provera, so that I was actually able to have a period.

Two weeks ago I went and had an HSG test, which was to say the least, uncomfortable, but the results came back great. Todd also went and had his semen analysis, which was "perfect" according to the OB. So, we're trying something new.

I started taking provera on Friday, the 23rd. It's a 10 day perscription, which in the past, has started my period on day 10. Then, I'm starting on clomid. Obviously you all know about clomid. lol. The thought is, if we can get my hormone levels right, and get the eggs ripe enough to not fizzle out before they are released, that, Bam! I'll get pregnant. Hmmm....I really hope this works!

I know that I just wrote you all a book, and for those of you that actually took the time to read it, I appreciate it. I've talked a million words to friends and family about all this, but no one has been where I am. None of them have ever been told "you can't". Well, I can. I know it. It's just going to take time.

Hope everyone has a good week. I wish all of you the best of luck.
Heather.
