Sheerena,

Hello and welcome:angel:

How many days post IUI are you? Are you taking any other meds, ie, to help support the pg? If so, you may or may not experience pg symptoms from the meds. Also did you take clomid or any other stims? if yes, that too can give similar pg symptoms.

You may notice some slight implantation spotting a few days post IUI but sometimes you may not notice anything. Breast tenderness is another one that could be pg and could be medication related. I know that it is really hard to not analyze every twinge and feeling. You can go on line and look for early pg symptoms, but everyone is different and some can "feel pg" right away and others don't. Is this your first IUI? Did your GYN or RE give you any guidance? How long until you can do a beta?

Lots of luck and keep us posted
Thanks HopefulX2.5 for your quick reply,

My gyn prescribed clomid for 5 days starting from 3rd day of my period, now I am taking Utrogestan and Folic acid. I get cramps, tender nipples and breasts, dizziness, I feel nauseas sometimes but as you said it could all be caused by the medicine. I had the IUI ten days ago (my first one, hopefully I won't go through that again); my gyn told me I should wait 2 - 3 weeks then phone him whether I had the period or not. I have regular periods so I will take a home pregnancy test if I am late.

wish me luck,

Shereena
Sheena,

Hello again;)

I am wishing you lots of luck. The clomid may make you have those symptoms, it did for me anyway. Seems like the day after IUI, I had really tender breasts, had to wear a bra to bed even. Also, felt almost PMS like during the whole 2ww. it was so confusing b/c I wanted to analyze every twinge and of course I was extremely hopeful.

Remember that those home tests can give you a false negative, usually your HCG has to be pretty high for it to register a positive test and sometimes it is still too early. However, the beta blood test is the best (it can detect it much earlier). So, don't get discouraged if your HPT gives you bad luck, I say until the fat red lady sings there is always a chance.

Good luck sweetie and hope your BFP is right around the corner
Thanks Hopefulx2.5

I had a very depressing day yesterday, I had soem brown discharge with traces of blood, something I usually get right before the period. I am still waiting to see what is going to happen, but I don't believe I am pregnant anymore, I felt very sad, and I wanted to cry. I hope we will get luck next time, or may be there is still hope. I will keep you posted.

Thanks again.

Shereena
Shereena welcome to the boards. I am sorry you had a bad day yesterday, I hope you are feeling better today? I agree with hopeful it is not over till the red ladies shows,

Good luck and please keep us posted

Charlene
Shereena, I have just got my BFP, and I had brown spotting with a bit of red here and there I was worried that it was going to be AF but as it turns out it was implantation bleeding, so maybe you are expriencing the same. Good luck as long as AF does not show you still have a chance.

Good Luck

Charlene
Thanks Charlene,

You don't know how much I appreciate your emails, I have no experience in that at all, and I totally freaked out when I had this discharge, I thought everything went to the drain, if we were just trying like any other month I would have been a little disappointed if I am not pregnant, but after going through the IUI and being on medication before and after and all the preparations and timing everything and sonars, I felt very depressed. I am still getting dark discharge, so nothing to do for me now but to wait; I will contact my doctor this week if I don't get my period and will see what will happen.

Thanks again for all the support.

Have a wonderful day,

Shereena
Shereena I am glad that I could help you a bit and offer you support. If you ever need encouragement or a place to let out your frustrations then we are here for you.

Has the bleeding got worse or is it still the same? If it does not get worse then the chances are good it is impantation bleeding.

Sending you tons of sticky baby dust your way.

Charlene
Dear Charlene,

you are sooooooooo sweet, Actually I am a bit positive now, I just get very dark discharge, no bleeding at all. I said I will wait a couple of days more and I will go and see my doctor.

I will keep you posted.

pray for me.

Shereena.
I will definatley keep you in my prayers. I hope you will be posting a BFP very soon.

Thinking of you and Good luck.

Shereen I hope you will be posting a BFP this month. If not then there is always next month. Please keep us posted.

Charlene
Hello Charlene,

I am trying to stay positive, I am getting cramps most of the day now, it is not so painful at night or early morning, it is strong during the day, I still get brown discharge, no blood, Thank God! and lower back pain from time to time, yet I am worried, I keep checking every five minutes, I always feel I am getting my period. I called my Dr. and he advised me to take a blood test on Saturday if there is no bleeding.

All I can do is pray, anyways, Saturday is not far away.

Cheers,

Shereena
Shereena your bleeding sound like it is implantation bleeding and not AF.I also had a few cramps and I thought AF was going to show. As long as you are not bleeding there is a chance of getting your BFP. Good luck for your b/w on Saturday:D. I am sure AF is going to stay far away.

Please keep me posted.

Charlene

Hi ladies
This is my first post on this site, I had my first iui 10 days ago and since have had 2 shots of Pregnyl. The past few days I have had cramps, backache, sore boobs, feeling moody and very emotional. I haven't had any spotting and don't think I feel pregnant. I was told to do a test 18 days after iui, but I am dying to test but am too scared I know I will be upset if its negative. Would really appreciate some advice I feel lonely as none of my family and friends know I am having treatment. I do talk to my husband but he can't understand everything, please help.

Thanks Nicky
Hi Nicky,

I'm sorry that you're feeling so anxious. I'm in the 2ww of an IVF cycle, and I can definitely relate!!! I'm so nervous about going in for the b/w!! I've found that it's best not to look into any signs. The meds will do crazy things to our bodies. I had sore boobs before the embryos were even transferred back into me. Then there is also the fact that many women don't experience any signs at all this early. Just try to take it a day at a time & feel free to stop in here & vent any time you need to. That's what we're here for. :) Wishing you all the best!! I hope this cycle brings your bfp!

Holly
Thank you so much for your kind words Holly, very encouraging for me. I am taking on board your advise and am going to keep myself busy over the next few days.

I wish you the very best of luck too, you will be a mummy very soon

Thanks Nicky
Hi there - (this is my first post- just joined today). I had my 1st IUI 7 days ago and had really bad cramping 3 days after it, and now I have such bad PMS, my husband is even complaining about how grouchy and irritable I am!! I took Clomid and the trigger shot so I am not sure if the PMS is in anticipation of AF coming, seems kinda earlier though. Haven't taken any other meds since the Clomid.

Wishing you happy thoughts and a BFP Shereena, we all know how tough this whole process can be :)
Shereena I have not heard from you in the last couple of days I know you have got a beta tomorrow I really hope that it is a BFP for you. Thnking of you.

Hi Natty and Nicky welcome to the boards.

Natty I am sorry you are feeling so grouchy. I will be honest with you and say when I was on clomid I was a raging lunatic....a complete nutter :dizzy::dizzy:. I am sure t is just the medication. Good luck I hope you will be posting a BFP soon.

Nicky I hope you are feeling better and will be posting a BFP soon.

Charlene
Thanks Namibia - I am trying not to read into any signs since you never really know if its AF on the way or implantation! I am hoping to have a grouchy, PMS free weekend (for my husband's sake).

:)
Natty I hope that you feel better soon and the PMS goes away for your DH's sake. I realised after I stopped clomid that I was crazy and I said to my DH how did you live with me? He said it was not easy, but he managed. I am sure your DH understands. Our hormones are always taking over.

Have a wonderful weekend

Charlene
Hi Natty,

I was prowling through d site trying to figure out what exactly is going on in my body, and your symptoms are exactly like mine. I had my IUI 8 days ago, and had some cramps on the 3rd day. I was also on clomid and had d trigger shot a day b4 d IUI. I also had some PMS (generally unhappy and grouchy) which i think may be have been a side effect of clomid(d side effects usually show up a week after the medication has been stopped). Other than the above, nothing much seems to be happening. my breast seem slightly bigger but maybe i am being delusional. I also feel nauseous at night but sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not.
I am praying that u had a positive pg test, since ur symptoms kind of match mine. Let me know please.

Thanks
Judy, welcome to the boards! I don't think you'll get a response from these ladies as they posted a whole year ago. I never did IUI but I have been successful with IVF. If you have any questions, don't hesitate. Good luck!
I am new to this board and I had my first IUI on March 24th. I am due for a blood test tomorrow morning. Not sure what to expect now. Can anyone relate????? Thanks
Hi All,
New here...I am 28 and DH 32..TTC since my first D&C in may 2007.All reports fine...Its UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY..thts what the dr.said.
Had my 1st IUI on april 4th morning at 10 am..was given HCG on april 3rd at 8.30 a.m and i was also on clomid from CD5-CD9..now i am taking PROMETRIUM...
Can anyone tell me is 1 follicle good enough to get pregnant..I have read ladies saying they had 5,7 or multiple follicles after taking clomid...I had only one and RE said its a good size for IUI..this 2WW is really tough...Anyone successful with 1st IUI with clomid nd HCG and with just 1 follicle..
Hello Shereena,
I'm in on my third day after my second iui. To be honest I am so scard that this one will fail also. What I wanted to as if you know...after your iui during your ovulation time, are you still suppose to feel like you're ovulating? You know, bloated, some lower abdominal discomfort, difficulty moving your bowels etc... I wish you the best by the way. I know the wait seems like a lifetime and the heartbreak you feel when seeing those signs of an oncoming period.

Take care.

Thanks Charlene,

I am new here! All the posts have been so helpful. I am 36 and did my first IUI with injectables (follistim) 10 days ago. Waiting is agony... I have a question...My cycle is usually like clockwork -- ovulate on the 14th day and start my period on the 28th. However, even though i usually ovulate on day 14, my RE waited to trigger me so I would ovulate on day 17. I guess to give the folliciles more time to grow. So if I am not pg, would AF arrive on day 28 still? Or later? My RE said NO HPTs...The suspense is killing me. I am so tired, nauseous and have sore boobs, but I think those are all also side effects for the progesterone... Has anyone else had this expereince? Thank you for reading. :-)

OOBIE - your AF should come 2 weeks after "O" if that was the 17th then ... It's sad they had to mess with your perfectly good cycle!! I am on 2nd IUI and 9dp iui with Clomid only. I didn't get the trigger as my insurance wouldn't cover and it was $125.00. I had a lot of symptoms with my first one and did a blood test on the 2wks after my IUI and it was BFN. I was bummed because of all the symptom, unfortunately it was the Clomid. I did Clomid this time and all the symptoms are different this time but my BFN this morning makes me think it's still the Clomid.

Just wanted to let you know you weren't alone in the 2ww and easier said than done but - don't over analyze your symptoms, it's hard when you get your hopes up!

Good Luck and tons of sticky baby dust....to you!
