Hallo Boundi!

Sorry haven't replied sooner, was out in London all day yesterday having my second U/S scan and then to the pictures to see "The Pianist" so didn't have time to log on last night!

I'm currently in my second week of injectibles (Purganol) and nasal spray (to keep my hormones well and truly shut down). My second scan yesterday showed that my follies seem to be the size they should be at this stage (CD 12). So I've got to go back again this Friday for a third scan and if my follies are still on track then they'll tell me when I can do the HCG shot -which could be either this Friday, Saturday, Sunday or next Monday. So I'm getting cautiously excited - if that's possible! I just want it all over and done with.

We won't be doing testiclar sperm extraction, however, at his last SA, my DH had 90% abnormally shaped sperm with low motility so we were told we'd have to have ICSI. So my DH will give a sample 'in the usual way' on the day of egg collection and we'll see what happens.

I truly believe that starting meds is not as horrible an experience as I thought it was going to be. In fact, the worst time for me was the period before I started taking them, when I was just waiting for time to pass before I could get going with the treatment and imagining it was going to be much worse than it actually is.

Having said that, the drugs that shut down your hormones (I believe you have Lupron in the US?) can really affect your moods. I had a massive argument this weekend with my DH - all as a result of my depressed mood brought about by the drug. So that's something to watch out for.

Other than that, the drug taking is not too bad at all. I'll keep you informed as to how my next scan goes along with egg collection and transfer - assuming I get that far!

Fingers crossed for us both.

Take good care.
