I am 25 years old, and not CURRENTLY trying to get pregnant....however, I do plan on having children in the future, once my boyfriend and I get married.

I want to be tested for fertility. Will my gynecologist do this (can they do this?) if I'm not "trying" & failing?

Here are the reasons that I want to be tested......

I have very advanced Celiac Disease which went undiagnosed for a long time. That often causes miscarriages and infertility.

I have a history of precancerous cells on the cervix/cervical dysplasia (but last PAP was normal)

I may have a thyroid problem (if anything probably hypothyroidism, which can also lead to infertility)

I have read that people on a very restricted diet (such as myself - for medical reasons) and who don't weigh a lot (I weigh 105) have a harder time getting pregnant.

I've had a lot of health problems in the past and am still dealing with some. I smoked from the time I was 15 until 23. I now haven't smoked for 2 years. I barely drink if ever these days (due to the Celiac, etc.) and never have used drugs. I have taken many different medications for my problems, though.

I believe that it is all in God's hands, and a part of me doesn't want to know. But a bigger part of me DOES want to know. I just think I would rather find out now rather than later. It would be devastating if I was infertile. I see the gyno soon - is this something I should bring up? Is this something I should be worried about? Is there a test they can do? Is it typically covered by insurance?

I am new to this. Thank you. Advice would be appreciated. I just want to be informed of and realistic about my situation. THANK YOU! God Bless :)
