New to Board
Dec 3, 2002
I am new to this board, and I am so happy to have found support. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 18 months. I started out seeing my OB, who put me on clomid for five months, finally up to 150 mg/day. I finally ovulated at day 34 on 150 mg, but didn't get pregnant. Even though my periods were irregular, and my blood test came back with elevated testosterone levels, my OB did not diagnose me with PCOS. It was only until I went to an RE that I was diagnosed (through an ultrasound, the blood test, irregular periods, etc). Any, if I could do it all over again, I would have gone to the RE much sooner! I just started provera today, and I am supposed to go to the RE within days 3-5 of my cycle for a baseline ultrasound and FSH test. Then, I will start 100 mg. clomid for five days. The doctor is also going to have me give myself an injection of Ovidrel once the follicule is 20mm. Oh, and I am also taking metformin for the PCOS. I can't believe all of the meds I am on, and all of the doc. appointments I have to look forward to. Anyway, I am happy to find an RE that is serious about helping me get pregnant, but I am also very scared about taking this next step. Can anybody tell me anything about Ovidrel? Success stories? What is the next step if this doesn't work? We are planning on timed intercourse, and I am wondering if we should just skip to IUI? Good luck to everybody, I was reading Wendy's story, my prayers are with her.
