... and we did IVF with ICSI back in Oct and of 19 mature eggs, we had 17 successfully fertilized using ICSI! ... (25 replies)
... We had 5 IVF attempts, and three ICSI's. On our third ICSI attempt it worked!! ... (25 replies)
... My Dh had count and morph issues so I did IVF with ICSI back in '06. I started with the first fresh cycle which ended in a BFN. We were able to freeze 2 but my frozen cycle ended in a chemical pg. ... (25 replies)

... Hi! I feel your pain! My husband's first SA this year (with our new RE) came back with almost no sperm. They weren't freezing at the time but just wanted to see what was there to work with. He did another SA (but we were delayed a few days because of it!) and this one came back at about 1 million. That time, we made sure there was more than 48 hours of abstinence, and that he... ... If I'm not pg now, I will be doing an IVF with ICSI cycle in July, so maybe we can be cycle buddies! ... (25 replies)
... Remember that with ICSI, they only need ONE good sperm, so his count doesn't even matter. Don't lose hope until you know all the facts. Thinking of donor sperm or adoption at this point is acceptable but shouldn't stress you out until you face either one of those obstacles (if you need to or choose to). I know this process is overwhelming, I've been there. But now, only 2... (25 replies)
... Hi Newenglander and welcome Im so sorry you have to go through all this I too have done IVF/PESA/ICSI but I hyperstimulated so after the E/R I had to do a freeze all so didnt get to the E/T, but I have 9 frosties waiting for me. I think 50% is a pretty good success rate and if you think about it even the most fertile couple has only a 25% chance of conceiving each month so... (25 replies)
... Thank you for the pointers and your input! I never thought getting pregnant was such a science project-how ignorant of me! I'm glad to hear that for some of you ivf/icsi has worked. It seems that it takes at least a couple of cycles. Congrats to all of you with babies and good luck to those who are trying! I will definitely try accupuncture (my IVF center offers it). In the... ... Hi, My husband has very, very low sperm count and next week we'll be seeing the RE to discuss our options. So far it looks like we'll be going through IVF and ICSI. The success rates out there are disheartening: just 50% really. Has anybody gone through this before? I would appreciate any feedback-whether it's a positive one or negative. I appreciate it! ... Thank you for the hope! And congrats on your beautiful daughter-I guess you did good! (25 replies)
... They were wrong!!!! We were able to freeze a sample just last week (the nurse told us he didn't have any for a third time in a row). So I'll be starting the cycle on August 6 with an estrogen patch, then start genirelix 8/7. I didn't think I would be excited about this stuff, but just yesterday the outcome was pretty grimm. First hurdle overcome. This happened only because... (25 replies)
... Oh, we went to the infertility urologist yesterday. I finally feel like we're on the right path. He said it's not the worst diagnosis, but not the best either. My husband is on clomid now so he can produce more testosterone, and therefore increase sperm production. He also said that it's not uncommon after a biopsy the testes to not function properly for a few months. He also... (25 replies)
... Oh, I'm so sorry! Don't beat yourself up! You and your husband are doing your absolute best! Your body is wonderful, even if the follicles are growing slowly. See how this cycle is going along, and how the doctor is managing it. Are they doing everything? If they botch it, well, there are other doctors, too. Don't waste time if it doesn't work. My sister went through it a... (25 replies)
... I agree...there has to be an environmental factor somewhere. My Dh had a zinc deficiency when he was younger and thinks that has something to do with his count...but even though he takes extra zinc, there has been no change. I do think there's a LOT to be said about the decrease in male fertility and increase in infertility cases. It's hard to imagine especially when so many... (25 replies)
... Thanks for the input! I'm starting the estrogen patch at the end of june (with my next cycle), and go from there. So I'll probably start the other stuff probably mid to end of july. This is just such a relief to talk to others about what's going on. KM, I'd love to be your IVF buddy! So keep me posted, and I'll do the same! Congrats to Holly! Hang in there, April! ... I don't think the experience is that horrible either. I did 2 IVFs, & both times, I did not experience many side effects from the meds. The appts & injections day after day can become a little much & of course there is tons of emotions & money invested in the cycle, but it is all really quite exciting when you think of what you're trying to accomplish. If you take it one... (25 replies)
... New, I'm glad to hear you've got a plan. Best of luck to you! I just had my ER for my second IVF today. To be honest, I don't think the experience is hell. You definitely need to take it day by day and try not to get overwhelmed by it all. I haven't had many side effects in way of emotions. Of course, by the end of your stims, you're going to feel a bit bloated and full.... (25 replies)
... You are such a great support! You are right: I don't know all the facts. We have an appointment in a few weeks with the RE and we'll take it from there.Thank you! This meant a lot to me! (25 replies)
... Newenglander, Welcome, and those are actually very good odds. I know 50% sounds daunting but in the whole world of IF...that is really high. I suppose it is a lot like the glass is half full or half empty. Lots of luck to you and your IVF may very well be the in the first time success group!!! Remember...Miracles happen everyday (25 replies)
... Cashahn, so they retrieved the eggs, fertilized and then freeze? Or just froze them anyways? It'a a good thing you have those precious eggs cryo for later use. We met with the RE today-He has talked about PESA/biopsy with tissue freezing, or just a retrieval of sperm with freezing if a good sample. I didn't think he was that positive about the outcome. I suppose until we... (25 replies)
