Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

I would say that the feeling that I have first thing in the AM as a result of my dry eyes is painful. But, it has gotten much better over the course of 2 years and one month since I had my surgery. I just know that every morning, before get out of bed, I am going to have to put drops in. My biggest problem with it is when I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I just want to get out of bed, move as smoothly as possible to the bathroom, do what I have to do and get back to sleep but, the dry eye problem really causes me to stumble alot as I am trying to rub the dryness out of them. Otherwise, no biggie.

Anyway, I use Optics Laboratory Minidrops Eye Therapy and have for probably somewhere around a year or somewhat less. I was using Systane but, I find that my minidrops work better. If you type the name of it into a search engine, you can see what the box looks like and see where they sell them in your area. I never like the gels because, I seemed to have worse pain and dryness when I used them.

Anyway, I hope this helps. These are the best drops that I have found and, you can trust me on that given that I have been working to rid myself of this dry eye issue now for more than 2 years. I really don't have the problem during the day anymore. Now and then, but not enough to be annoyed.

Take care, keep in touch!
I had dry eyes before my surgery....so my eyes don't feel any different, but I do see better when I use the Systane drops. I am 6 weeks post op and not sure what to think yet. I don't go back for 3 months....so it's just wait and "see"...lol
I had no pain at all during the surgery...mild to moderate discomfort for 2 days following. Felt like a contact was rolled up in my lid...but my husband kept my knocked out with Benadryl. I do recommend that...it keeps the itching from driving you NUTS. Basically I slept for 3 straight days...kept me from being uncomfortable and "whiney".
