Is it always essential to have a stable eyesight prescription over, say, a 12 month period before having Lasik surgery ? Do all clinics insist on this ?

Thanks
I think I remember my doc wanting a stable prescription for at least 2 years but, by stable, they mean minimally stable. If your prescription changed just a little bit over the past 2 years, that is not big deal. You might still be a good candidate. But, the bigger leaps in prescription differences are more worrisome. I can't tell you what numbers they prefer. So, the best I can suggest is that you go see your regular eye doc and have your records ready when you have your exam with your lasik doc.

Take care and keep in touch!
