Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

Like an earlier poster said, I also read way too many horror stories and almost talked myself out of LASIK. I knew full well what the complications could be and I am also a bit of a worrier. I was also VERY tired of contacts and glasses... reading glasses in every spot at home and work. I visited Dr. Jeffrey Morris in Encinitas, CA on the referral of a friend. He suggested that I try out monovision contacts for a couple of months if I was not in a hurry. I was very happy with the 2nd prescription I tried and decided to have the monovision procedure. I am 4 days post op and have had virtually NO issues. Yes, I have to put drops in 4 times a day and am very careful to keep my eyes lubricated with the plain drops. I initially had a bit of starburst around lights at night but that is resolving nicely. I am very amazed at how well I can see. I can read anything and my distance vision is also excellent. My eyes do get tired at the end of the day. It feels much like when you need to take your contacts out in the evening. I have to remind myself that I don't have to do that any more! I ask myself why it took me so long to have LASIK... and I remember how worried I was... our sight is so important. Pick a great surgeon, follow instructions to the letter, and remember that it is surgery. Best wishes to anyone who is reading this... it is certainly life changing for the positive for me!
Glad to hear you're doing so well! My experience was also a positive one and I did my share of worrying beforehand. I know what you mean about having tired eyes by the end of the day-mine still get like that sometimes, and I'm 6 weeks out. But, maybe it's a good reason to get some extra rest I needed anyway...;-)
