Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

1) If you had problem with dry eyes before this surgery, you will probably not be pleased with how drier your eyes can become.
2) If you are over 50, enjoy reading and just got to the point where you took your glasses off to read-- look out-- lasik will REQUIRE that you now use reading glasses, but the problem with that is, that even with the reading glasses your vision will never be clear enough to read labels off thaings like asprin bottles and so forth. My vision up close bothers me enough that I even wear my glasses to eat. And If your work requires you to read throughout the day, be prepared to wear the glasses on the tip of your nose, or like a little ol lady with an eyeglasses lanyard!

Just something to think about!

I would have to disagree that with LASIK you will never be able to read labels again. True, you do lose your natural ability to focus up close if you are older and have Presbyopia, but you can always go with a stronger + lens to read anything you could have without LASIK. Its simple optics theory.
