Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index
I am now 2 months post opp. I can't decide if my vision has gotten better or I've just gotten used to it. My right eye is still the source of most of my problems. It seems like my right eye just hasn't healed. In my right eye I experience some ghosting (double vision) and light seems to overflow its borders if that makes sense?

But these are all just guesses because my doctor hasn't been very helpful throughout this process. I have gone through massive amounts of preservative free drops (I have actually discovered that they can be bought bulk for quite a bit cheaper at Sams Club). But anyways I also use the night time ointment, humidifier, and flax seed oil. I never anticipated having trouble this far out- but it is what it is. Sometimes I use a really weak pair of reading glasses to help when my eyes get tired.

Resturants and bars drive me nuts because of all the levels of lighting and neon signs. I am trying to remain positive and keep doing all the right things. I know one thing is for sure, I'm learning to live with it and not letting it consume my every thought- and that really is my best advice.

Sorry I don't have a whole ton of good news yet!
Thanks for your reply. I understand what you mean about light overflowing it's borders. I'm now 32 days post-op and I still experience that. Restaurants and other dimly-lit areas seem to have gotten a little better for me, but I may just be used to it.

I had my one-month follow-up last week. My doctor said I was 20/15 in both eyes (I barely made out 3/5 letters on the 20/15 line)...I think I was closer to 20/20, which is still great. She also said that I have an astigmatism of .25 in both eyes. I believe this was Lasik-induced. I know I had a slight astigmatism in one eye prior to Lasik, but it was not in both eyes. The doctor said this should heal with time, but to come back if I notice my vision worsening.

So...here I am...another week out (week 5 post-op), and it seems my vision IS getting worse...more blurry, more cloudy, can't see as far away. I'm still using eye drops religiously... once or twice every 30 minutes. I'm now seeing glare around lights at night...especially green lights. Even my oven/microwave timers (which are green in color) appear blurry. Weird to now see this when I didn't experience this at all right after surgery. I put in tons of drops, thinking it could just be 'dry eye'. This has not helped. I hope this is not a result of the astigmatism. I still do not see as crisp as I did the first day after surgery, and I fear that it won't get back to that. :( I'm going to see the doctor again in two days. I hope she can help. She didn't sound concerned on the phone...she said it sounded like dry eye, but scheduled an appt with me to be sure.

It's good that you're not letting it consume you...wish I could say the same.:(
