Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

I got my Lasik surgery done on 10th Jan 2011, so it's been around 2 weeks since. I'm 20 years old, and had -4.75 in both eyes before surgery. Vision is now almost perfect, and an eye examination a week ago revealed 6/6 in left eye and 6/5 in right eye. Before the surgery, I had to go to a doctor due to continous chest pain and congestion. He diagnosed it as Catarrh, and prescibed antibiotics. It subsided after some time, and I went ahead with the Lasik surgery. I'm happy with my vision now. But there are some things I'd like to clarify now. I hope you can help me.

1.) I've been experiencing headache around my eye area recently, but not in the eyes. It is mostly near the eye-brow and cheek areas. If I press in that area, I can experience more pain. When I asked my Lasik doctor, he said it's not related to the surgery and suggested that it might be Sinusitis. Even before the operation, I could experience dizzyness when I bent my head. So, I always doubted that I had Sinusitis. But I never had any headache because of it. So, it the pain because of Sinusitis? Should I visit an ENT specialist? Also, will the medications for Sinusitis interfere with my eye healing?

2.) I find that after the surgery, I'm not blinking as usual. I have to sometimes make myself blink purposefully. Is this normal?

3.) I have been advised to wear eye-shields at night for 2 weeks. Should I wear it for even more time? I'm really concerned that I might disturb the flap, so what should I do?

4.) Also, when can I rub my eyes after the surgery? I'm making sure not rub my eyes, but I'm afraid I might do it by accident. Also, are there any other precautions I should take?
