Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

Okay, i am nearsighted and my vision is -450 in both eyes.. I want laser eye surgery, but i have a flying spot/floater in my left eye.. It doesn't bother me at all.. I have had it since I was five (21 now) years old. I almost don't see them at all anymore; however, i have read that laser eye surgery may make floaters worse.. I wanna know if it's true, what type of lasik i should get and would it be a good idea for me to have it since i have a floater in my left eye.
I had floaters before, have them the same after lasik. But floates are minor problem with what you could end up after lasik. Simple answer is don't get lasik, don't gamble with healthy cornea, don't risk getting halved quality of vision, dry eyes, bad nightvision.

I'm not worried about the other stuff.. I'm worried that if I get this, the floaters will get worse.
And why are you not worried about the other stuff? Seems like it's pretty real that complications or side effects as low light quality of vision and nightvision is pretty real and pretty big risk of ending with such state of eyes. So why would you not be worried about that, but floater problem bothers you, like there are so many potential complications, and only floater problem is bothering you. Well let me say, I now barely drive, sometimes I wanna rip my eyes out how bad I see at night and in low light. Good luck if these issues don't bother you, I would rather have 3 more floaters than bad nightvision. But maybe you are one of those potential super satisfied lasik patients, i mean that will be, where people end up with side effects and it still ok with them.

Be worried about other stuff cause they are so much worse then floaters. And who can tell you will you get floaters increase after lasik? it is possiblity but what do you want, some numbers, but there are no numbers, you go in and you gamble, so good luck.
