Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

I had LASIK 6 months ago and find my vision is now better than it was pre surgery with glasses but it is far from perfect. I struggle with number plates and faces after a few feet ( say the car in front on a road). I always need reading glasses for any reading or computer work or reading food labels.
I had my six month check up today and she explained I could have an enhancement in my left eye (which is my weaker eye) but this would be a relatively small enhancement but would sharpen things up. She said they would most probably lift the flap in 80% of people and redo LASIK but for 20% of people flap has heeled too much and they would do LASEK instead needing a 4 day recovery and bandage contact lens.
She said I could try a contact lens in that left eye for 5 days to see if I felt the improvement was worth taking the risk or more surgery.
She also said that with a very small enhancement such as I need, there is a chance the laser could over compensate and so no recognisable improvement at the end. Near vision (which is rubbish) could get even more rubbish (would I notice anyway?).
So do I or don't I ?
