Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

Lasik Eye Surgery Board Index

So I had all laser LASIK about 1 1/2 weeks ago from a very reputable doctor and I'm have slight blurriness in my right eye. My prescription was -4.25 in both eyes, no astig.

I know it is still soon after surgery to have final results, and there are other threads about this same issue, but the thing that worries me is on all those threads I do not see anyone seeing any improvement.

I have let my doc know this on my 2 follow up visits and she keeps telling me to wait, and make sure I put my artificial tears in. She says the flaps and health of my eyes are perfect.

The one thing that worries me is that with a pinhole ocular test it eliminates the blurriness. Would that not indicate that my right eye is under corrected? My left eye is VERY sharp. I am not really experiencing any pain, just some slight discomfort from what is probably the straining of my right eye.

I see my doctor again in about 1 1/2 weeks, but until then this is driving me nuts and I cannot find any stories about improvement or what it means when a pinhole DOES improve vision.
My mother actually recently had Lasik (about 4 months ago). She had a really similar experience. Because one eye was fuzzy, it gave her really bad headaches. She ended up going to her doctor a little earlier than the scheduled time. Do you have anyone that you know that you can ask?

Hopefully it all works out for you!

Only other person I can contact is my sister who had it done back in November from the same doctor. She hasn't said anything about one eye being blurry, just that one eye felt like she had an eyelash in it for about a month afterward. It is gone now.

Don't really expect anyone to give me a definite answer, was just looking for others experiences that have had a similar experience. Like I said, with the pinhole test showing that the pinhole does improve my vision makes me think it is actually a refractive issue meaning it's under-corrected. However because it is still so soon I'm not sure. I was just at the doctor for a follow up 2 days ago and let them know it was slightly more blurry than my left eye, and the doctor just told me to use drops more frequently and check for improvement over the next 2 weeks.

Did your mothers eye improve?
I had LASIK last March so I am just about a year in. I noticed my eyesight fluctuate quite a bit in the first few months. My eyes have for the most part settled down with my left eye being sharp at a distance and a touch on the imperfect side up close and the opposite for my right eye. With both eyes open it is hard to notice because one corrects for the other. I did develop floaters in my right eye but I'm starting to notice them less and less (they are not disappearing but my brain is learning to tune them out).

I have noticed my eyesight is much crisper on a nice sunny day than at night in a dimly lit setting.

As everyone is different, it is impossible to say how your case is going to play out but do not be overly discouraged if your vision is not where you want it to be right now. Expect fluctuations. I know people personally that have said their eyesight continued to improve over the first few years.

I had my checkup two days ago, and the doctor said my left eye is perfect, my right now has a prescription of - 0.5. It hasn't improved but I've adjusted to it a bit. She said it wouldn't be possible to ******** an enhancement on it as she says it would be hit or miss to correct that small of a prescription. It's annoying but I feel like it will become less noticeable. I have lost all hope that the actual vision will improve.
She basically didn't even give me the option of getting an enhancement. Anyway I'd like ya to keep me updated with if you see any improvements.
Well I had my enhancement one month follow up today, well more like 6 weeks but quite pleased. My left eye was in a good mood and I got to the second smaller chart and achieved 20/20 vision in the weaker left eye. I would still say it was far from perfect and people throw around the phrase 20/20 thinking it means everything is sharp which I would not agrea with but certainly adequate and allowing for the fact I have been extremely short sighted since about age 10 and getting more and more blind as a bat, overall I am very pleased with the result and I would have to say on balance it has been worth the extortianate 4000 and definitely the best 4000 I have ever spent. Yes still get halos and yes still get starburst and yes still can't read road signs and number plates as I would like but still overall thumbs up for 20/20
