... I just had Interlase 2 days ago and can see well at a distance but not up close. I can't read or use computer well as all is blurry. I feel like I need reading glasses now after the surgery when I didn't before. I'm only 31. Is this a normal healing thing or has the surgery compromised my close up vision? ... (4 replies)
... I had lasik 5 days ago and I'd like input from anyone who may share a commonality with me about 2 things: 1) Anyone come out with double vision in one of your eyes? My doc said my corneas were rough and it was inflamation and would go away. So far, it's the same as when I got up off the table. Any encouragement there? 2) He told me to get a pair of 1.75 reading glasses (... (0 replies)

... I don't know how much they do it, but it's a technique called monovision. The facility I went to sort of set up a pair of lenses to show what it's like--dominant eye focused for far vision, your other eye for close reading. (Apparently my boss's husband has it, and seems to like it, though I guess the way he now peers at menus with one eye kind of drives her crazy.) I'm 41,... (2 replies)
... This will likely (hopefully) be my final update. I had surgery about a month ago and just returned from my check up. I am now seeing 20/20 in both eyes, no astigmatism. My issue of blurry at all distances has been resolved. About a week ago my left eye started to focus and seeing became a lot easier! I was able to read a few letters on the 20/15 line as well! My... ... Hi Vergil Sorry you are having problems but quite common in early days I think. I certainly had the scratchy eye feeling- make sure you don't rub them and ask your optometrist for some preservative free drops- that should help. As far as I know , most people only started getting a bit near sighted (difficulty in reading) when short sightedness decreases (or so they say but... (5 replies)
... Update...I had my 1 month visit. This visit was with my normal optometrist - not the surgeon that did my procedure. I really struggled with the chart. I was almost seeing double on the chart. It was 10 feet away and in a dark room, which is a bad combination for me. Near vision was quite good. Optometrist said I probably needed an enhancement, and if it were up to him... (18 replies)

... It's pretty scary. Sometimes I would look like I have a lazy eye(it varies in both eyes. My right may look weaker, and vice versa in my left). At other times my pupils would look weak, and not coordinated (giving me the cross-eyed kinda look). It varies throughout the day. When I have perfect vision my eyes appear normal and strong. This only started a week ago. I have... (3 replies)
... It's tough for me....for example, today it's not very noticeable. It's 50/50 if I'd do it again....depending on my mood (LOL). My problem was that I hated contacts, especially in my right eye, were it would bug the living hell out of me. It always felt like there was something in it. Well, guess what? That issue is still with me. That is the reason I went to the... (6 replies)

... I had exactly the same experience - at the one week checkup, my optometrist said to get a cheap pair of +1 reading glasses. They made a huge difference, for about a month; by two months they were pointless, because my eyes' accommodating muscles had recovered fully. (I'd been -10 originally, once the healing was done I ended up -1 and -3.) (6 replies)
