... So, I think this may be one of the reasons that some doctors suggest it might not be good to combine pregnancy and lasik. Since temporary dry eyes is very common during the healing period it may not be the best idea to mix that with a hormonal change like pregnancy. ... (8 replies)
... lasik almost 2 yrs ago and shortly thereafter became pregnant. What happened to her was her night vision started to get more blurry and increased dryness as her pregnancy continued. She kept bugging the dr if she was alright and he told her it was her hormones and it would go away after she had the baby. ... (4 replies)
... lbp, The only thing I can tell you about pregnancy and eyes is that my sister wore contacts before she ever got pregnant but, once she was pregnant, she couldn't wear her contacts anymore because somehow, a woman's eyes actually change shape while they are prego. So, her contacts didn't fit anymore. Being preggo didn't change her vision any. Just the shape of her cornea or... (8 replies)

... Michelle, Thanks again. I am just really confused as what to do. I think I should just wait since I am having such doubt. Its just that I had my evaluation already and I was so close. ... Hi Ibp! Sorry if I scared you with the whole dry eyes thing! I wore contacts alot in the past, but the last few years I pretty much just wore my glasses since my contacts bothered me. ... Hi Ibp, I'm glad that we could help! I really do think that you are making the right decision with waiting. It is hard to make your decision based on other peoples situations, because it is impossible to know how YOUR body is going to react. My twin sister had lasik a few years ago and didn't have any problems after the first month, so even though I was nervous about my... (8 replies)

... I posted my experience under "My Interlase Experience" a few years ago (should still be accessible to read if you sort by # Views). Today a colleague asked about my experience and I found that old thread to email her and thought I'd give you guys an update. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!! Still 20/15, no issues with halos, etc. I had slight dry eyes before the... (2 replies)
How old for lasik?
Mar 16, 2008
... You have to be at least 18, but I've heard it's best to wait until after 25yrs of age. Your eyes also need to be stable, meaning no vision corrections in less than a year (or possibly two, can't remember off the top of my head). Also, if you're female, then you'd want to consider if you're going to be pregnant because pregnancy can also cause your vision to change (it did... (2 replies)
... Cheers Skylar, it's been amazing! very happy. I posted a thread called something like 'my positive laser story';) (4 replies)
... Thanks for your replies! I had heard "wait 6 months"-maybe that is an abundance of caution. Glad to hear the 7 days figure. We'd like to have a baby and could potentially be pregnant as early as 4 months post-Lasik. I can't see why it would be a problem, especially since to this point my eye surgery has been uncomplicated. I'll ask 12/4 when I go for my 2 month follow-up and... (4 replies)
... Hello Skylar, how you doing?? If you remember I posted on here enquiring about the same topic. Yesterday I took the plunge and had my eyes lasered. I enquired about falling pregnant as was concerned due to the change in the eye (amongst other parts of the body!!!) My surgeon, advised that there 'may' be a need for an adjustment, but not necessarily as it could rectify... (4 replies)
