... I am about 2 months out from my LASIK surgery and my vision has gone from 20/20 the week of surgery to 20/50 last week. I've been told I'll definitely need an enhancement. I'm not real happy about this and am concerned I'll have the same problem again after the enhancement. I'm currently back in contacts and glasses. I will have the enhancement at the beginning of the new... (1 replies)
... lasik, you should not worry. you are overcorrected on purpose, that is good when you are far sighted and use bifocals. You can expect a regression in the next 6 months that will give you a better far vision and loose some short vision. Depending on your age, this overcorrection will help you in the future. ... ... sed difficulties at seeing up close since our surgery. One, I believe that most surgeons slighlty overcorrect myopic patients initially, to take into account the regression that normally occurs during the healing process, and the higher the initial myopia the higher the expected regression and the higher the initial overcorrection. ... ... It is possible. There are many things that could cause this to happen. Regression is more common in PRK patients, but does occasionally happen to Lasik patients. Perscriptions do change and to expect your eyes to remain constant forever could lead to a major disappointment. ... (3 replies)

... I made this thread in the eyesight section, but I just realized there's a Lasik section: Just this year my eyesight has deteriorated significantly. Only my distance vision has been affected. The change seems very sudden to me, so I'm wondering if it's something other than just normal nearsightedness. I had Lasik for nearsightedness at a relatively young age (19,) so it... (2 replies)

... Michelle, Thank you so much for your quick reply. I am so torn on what to do with the lasik. With the pregnancy thing, I am confused because I heard if U have lasik & then get pregnant shortly after you can have regression. I certainly don't want that since I am so nervous to begin with. I don't want to have to do enhancements. I am reading so much about... (8 replies)

... I only had mine 4 months ago. My greatest issue by far has been dry eye which will cause some regression. That said, I went from 20/10 after my 30 day appointment to somewhere around 20/30. My doc told me about 5% will regress. I paid the $$$ for lifetime enhancements so that if further enhancements were needed they would do it at no charge. My concern with you is that you... ... Sorry to hear that. I have read that people with higher levels of Myopia have a higher chance of regression. Hope that it doesn't regress further. (1 replies)

... I had a myopic regression - by the 3 month check, I was stable at -1 and -3 diopters (with about a diopter of astigmatism). The dry eye was quite bad early on, and I had an allergic reaction to one of the drops (a lanolin based overnight dry-eye gel), but now it's fine apart from floaters: I wear glasses (much thinner and lighter than I had before) and use the low-strength... The change seems very sudden to me, so I'm wondering if it's something other than just normal nearsightedness. I had Lasik for nearsightedness at a relatively young age (19,) so it would make sense for my vision to change. But what doesn't make sense to me is that my vision... (0 replies)
