What do you think?
Nov 9, 2004
Okay, I recently went to the doctor (about 2 and a half months ago) because I was sick with swollen nodes. They gave me a WBC and it came back elevated, so they tested me for mono which came back positive. A hematologist examined my blood and told me that worst case scenario it could be the begin stages of leukemia, but it was a very common thing for mono to do with the blood, so not to worry because he didn't believe I had anything wrong with me. I am still feeling tired and stuff and have somewhat of swollen nodes, but they went down since I went to the hospital. Do you think that this could be a result of leukemia?

Your doctor is the one to consult if you still have concerns or questions. He/She is correct in that Leukemia can sometimes be less debilitating than the symptoms of mono. Then the mono eventually goes away, over about 6months or so. The Leukemia left untreated will kill you. If you are still concerned have the doctor run more tests.
