Hi all, I'm new to this, but I was wondering if anyone might have any information...
I'm 25 and I've been having problems for a couple of years now, petachie, fatigue, sun sensitivity, aching joints, night sweats, etc. I had a positive ANA test result at 1:640, but everything else has turned up normal. Recently I herniated a disc in my lower back and had an MRI of my spine. It turns out that my bone marrow looks abnormal on the MRI. Apparently, the marrow is isointense to the disc space on the T1-weighted images which, as my orthopedic surgeon kept saying over and over again, is pretty unusual. This can be considered to be a sign of leukemia, lymphoma, or other bone marrow replacing disorders. I most likely am going to have a bone marrow biopsy done.
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with me? Is it possible to have a positive ANA and still have leukemia? Is it possible to have a CBC within normal limits and still have leukemia? Could this be a sign of an autoimmune disorder? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I know that many things can make an ANA positive, yes an autoimmune disorder such as lupus could be the case. I was tested for lupus about 5 years ago, I got a positive ANA for the antibodies. The Doc. did not think I met all the criteria, and has not dx'ed me even though I know I have more than all the criteria, don't get me wrong, I don't want Lupus, but an answer to all of these symptoms would be good. Anyway, I later had another test done and it came up neg. what they say is that you can have an infection or something and the ANA can pick it up as the antibodies they are looking for, even if it is just the flu or a cold.
Now, as for your bone marrow, I am not sure I wish I could help with that, just try to relax this weekend cause worrying will not help.
Do you have any bone and disc issues, ddd, djd, fibro... Have you ever been Diagnosed with any of these? Good luck to you
