Pediatric Leukemia?
Feb 14, 2009
Our son is 15 months old and went in for a regular well baby visit. While at his appointment the doctor said it was standard to test for lead levels and he also ordered a CBC. When the CBC results came back, his WBC count was 27.9, his PLT count was 524 and his Lymphs Abs was 16.74. The doctors have asked for him to return every few days to have his WBC retested because they indicated that the three mentioned levels are too high and they are greatly concerned. However they will not state what they think may be wrong. He has not been ill in any way nor does he have any lethargy. (In fact he has more energy than most children his age). Are these levels indicative of leukemia? If not, what do they possibly indicate?
