... Hi Peach, My cousin was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia about 10 + years and is doing wonderfully. Initially, she took interferon injections. She had to have her spleen out but since then she has had very few symptoms. Good Luck (3 replies)

... No it does not sound like Leukemia. I have CLL and the high blood count caused a bone marrow test that confirmed luekemia. It appears that your many doctors are chasing some other cause that could be some type of blood disorder. (2 replies)
... see what your doc says. Im betting its not Leukemia. For one your WBC is not very high. WBC counts in Leukemia tend to be MUCH, MUCH higher than 15.5. Your other symptoms are also much more likely to be something other than Leukemia. For one, your headaches and dizzy spells could be caused by your high blood pressure. ... (3 replies)
... A normal WBC ranges from 4,000 - 10,000. Is your WBC 107,000? Does it read 107.0? Did they say 10.7 OR 107? If it is 10.7, they may be refering you to a hemotologist to RULE OUT a type of blood disorder, not exclusively luekemia. Since your blood counts are showing a pattern of increased Lymphocytes a bone marrow biopsy would be the definitive test. However, some people... (9 replies)
