Re: Fatty liver
Jan 19, 2014
Fatty liver is common and associated with several things-being overweight, having diabetes, drinking too much, having a high animal fat diet, and sometimes is hereditary or caused by certain drugs, like steroids. I would not dismiss the info nor would I panic. I would look at any factors you can control, such as keeping weight normal, eating a healthy diet low in fats and sweets, minimal alcohol consumption, keeping blood sugars controlled if diabetic. If you are on any meds look up whether fatty liver can be a side effect. The fat content in liver can be reduced, but if you do nothing, it can over time cause damage to the cells. It is worth making lifestyle changes to protect your liver over the long run.
